ESSEX BLOCK C RESULTS

LBRSC win Top relay award and great individual performances.

The London Borough of Redbridge Swimming Club participated in the 3rd block at the Essex County Championships.  Whilst there were excellent individual performances, Redbridge were the overall winners of the County relays. Charlie Dentith, just having returned from injury won the 400IM and 400 free.  He also set PBs in the 50 & 100 breast, winning both events.  Charlie was 3rd in the 1500free and set a PB in the 50fc.Dean Smith swam a superb 50 breast to win in a best time and set another best time in the 100 breast where he finished 3rd.  He also competed in the 400free, 400im and 50 free.Chris Inch had a good weekend setting a 2 sec PB in the 400IM winning the event, 2nd in the 400 free, 4th in the 50 & 100 breast and 5th in the 50 free – all were best times.  Chris also came 4th in the 1500.Ivan Georgiev was in great form, setting an 8 sec PB in the 400im finishing 2nd, 3rd in the 100 breast and 6th in the 400 free.  All of his swims were best times.Joe Stamp swam to a credible 2nd place in the 200im, 5th in the 100 fly and 6th in the 100IM.  Joe also competed in the 1500 and 100 free.  Once again, Joe achieved best times in all of his events.Emily Cole had a good weekend, winning the 100 fly PB(just outside of the national time), =3rd in the 200 back with a PB and 5th in the 100 back.   Emily also finished 3rd in the 1500 freeJessica Lambert swam two excellent backstroke races.  She went under 70 secs for the 100 back where she finished 4th and also swam a PB in the 200 back finishing 5th.  Jess also competed in the 50 & 100 fly.Kelsey Richards had a great weekend considering she had missed weeks of training due to illness.  Kelsey finished 2nd in the 100 & 200 back, 4th in the 50 & 100 fly – all in best times.  She also placed 4th in the 1500 freeSophie Copper had a good weekend, finishing =3rd in the 200 back and set a PB in the 100 back also in 3rd place.  Sophie just swam outside of her PB in the 100 fly, finishing 4th.Lawrence Brown swam really well this weekend, achieving PBs in all of his events.  Lawrence finished 6th in the 1500 free and 200IM.  He also set best times in the 100IM, 100 fly and 100 free.Theo Athientis swam a great 200 free to finish 3rd in his age group.Lucy Harwood swam to a 3rd in the 50 fly, set another PB in the 200 breast and a 20 sec PB in the 400IMFraser Scott swam to a superb 3rd in the 400 free with a 13 sec PB.Frank McGuirk swam a great race to achieve a massive PB in the 100free, finishing 5th.Ryan Smith swam a brilliant 100 breast, achieveing a best time and 5th in the final.Ciara Purcell swam well, achieving a PB in the 1500 (4th) and set PBs in the 200 breast  and 200IM.Grace Wingrove had a good weekend finishing 6th in the 1500 with a 30 sec PB.  Other best times were set in the 200IM, 200 BK and 50 flyEllie Bedwell swam well to finish 5th in the 100 back and 6th in the 200.  This was good considering she has also been unwell.Charlie Bird (200 breast), Sophie Priddle (200IM), Toby Mascall (200FC and 400FC), Morgan Brown (100IM), Kenneth Man (100IM & 100 Free), Kieran Holdbrook (200 & 400free), Jonathan Worby (1500), Samuel Kelly (200IM & 100FC) & Eloise Montanana (400IM), ALL set best times.  Chris Stamp (50 fc) and Sadie Lucas (50 fly) swam well, finishing just outside of their best times.IN the 4x100 women’s relay, Sophie Copper, Kelsey Richards, Emily Cole and Ellie Bedwell finished 4th.  LBRSC then sent out two teams in the boys 4x50 free.  Ivan Georgiev, Ryan Smith, Lewis Defreitas-Archer and Charlie Dentith swam well to finish 4th.  The other relay Joe Stamp, Lawrence Brown, Samuel Kelly and Jonathan Worby swam really well just missing out on a final place.  Both relays helped the club win the overall relay trophy which was swam in January and March.
