LONDON AGE GROUP CHAMPS

Swimmers from the London Borough of Redbridge participated in this year’s London Age Group Regional Championships and Crystal Palace.

Eloise Montanana placed 2nd in the 400free and competed in the 200 breast, 200IM, 400IM (5th)  and 200 back.  Eloise also achieved a PB in the 100 free finishing 5th in the final, a PB in the 200 free Eloise (5th) also competed in the 100 & 200 back and 800 free (4th). Sophie Priddle achieved a long course PB in the 200 back, 200 free and 400IM ,200IM.  Lucy Harwood swam a PB in the 400 free, 200fly (8th) 100 back and in the 100 fly where she placed 3rd.  Lucy also achieved a best time in the 100 free and competed in the 800 free, 200 breast, 200 free,  400IM and back.  Mathuri Karunakaran swam a good 400 free and equalled her best in the 100 free.  She also achieved long course PBs in the 100 back, 200 free, 200 back and 200 IM.  Grace Wingrove returned to form, achieving PBs in the 400 free, 100 back, 200 Back, 200 free and 200IM.  Grace also competed in the 200 breast and 400IM (5th), and competed in the 400IM  100back.  Ciara Purcell swam in the 400 free, 200 free and 100 free, 200 breast.  Ellie Grant placed first in the 10 year age group in the 400 free.  In the 200 breast, Ellie achieved a massive PB to make the 100 & 11 year old final finishing 7th and also achieved a PB in the 100 / 200 free, 200IM, 100 breast, 400IM and 200 back.  Nikita Roberts achieved a PB in the 200 free & 800 free(7th), 200fly (2nd) 400 free and another best time in the 100 fly finishing 7th.  Nikita also achieved a best time in the 100 free and 200IM.  Bradley Suleyman achieved a PB in the 100 free and 200IM finishing 4th in both finals and another PB in the 200 back finishing 6th overall.  Bradley also competed in the 400 free – finishing in the top 8 and just missed out in the final in the 100 fly. He also competed in the 200 free. Niccolo Amoroso achieved a PB in the 100 / 200 free, 400 free, 400IM and 200 back.  Reece Nicholls competed in the 100 free, achieved a PB in the 200 free,400 free, 400IM (5th), 100 back (5th) and 1500 free (7th) and 200 back finishing 7th in the final. He also competed in the 200IM.  Ryan Nicholls competed in the 100 free and achieved a PB in the 100 back ,200 free.  Morgan Brown achieved a PB in the 100 / 200 free and in the 200 back.  He also smashed his PB in the 4x200 free relay.  Frank McGuirk achieved a PB in the 200 IM (7th overall), 200free (5th), 100 back (3rd), the first leg of the 4x100IM relay and the split of the 4x100 & 200 relays and equalled his best in the 100 free.  In the 200 back, Frank swam just outside of his PB and placed 5th.  Frank also swam in the 400 free & 400IM (6th).  Kenneth Man achieved a PB in the 100 breast, 100 back , 200 free and finished 6th and competed in the 100 free, 100 fly and 200IM.  Sophie Kenny swam well in the 200 breast and 100 breast.  Kieran Holdbrook swam well in the 400 free and 200 free, 400IM, 1500free PB.  Fraser Scott achieved a big PB in the 100 breast, 200 breast, 400IM & 400 free and swam an excellent leg in the 4x200 relay.  Karis McGuirk swam to a 10 sec PB in the 400IM.  Ryan Hutson  swam well, achieving a PB in the 100 back.Edmund Ashton, swimming in his first regional championships achieved a PB in the 200 breast finishing 7th.LBRSC also fielded 10 relay teams.  The 4x200 relays team (McGuirk, Brown, Ryan Nicolls, Scott) finished 5th, the 4x100 free team (all the same except Man replaced Scott) 4th, and in the 4x100IM team (McGuirk, Ashton, Nicholls and Man) finished 6th.  In the girls the 4x200 relay (Montanana, Wingrove, Karunakaran and Purcell) finished 6th.  In the 4x100 free team (Harwood replaced Purcell) and finished 9th and in the 4x100IM (Karunakaran, Wingrove, Harwood and Purcell) finished 14th. IN the 10/12 age group, Bradley Sulyman, Kieran Holdbrook, Reece Nicholls and Niccolo Amoroso finished 10th in the 4x50medley relay and 5th in the free relay.  The girls, Eloise Montanan, Nikita Robets, Ellie Grant and Lucy Harwood finished 6th in the 4x50free event and 7th in the medley relay.
