About LTS

LBRSC run an intensive LTS programme following the ASA's National Teaching Plan. The LTS develops swimmers to level 7 and then encourages them to progress to club / squad swimming.

Squad profile

There are two aspects to Learn to Swim 

The Duckling Awards - This Award Scheme 1 - 5 is primarily to introduce very young children with the assistance of LBRSC's helpers and coaches  to become water  confident.

The National Teaching Plan - LBRSC follow the ASA's national plan up to Level 8. Full details are on the ASA website. Swimmers must pass all of the criteria to progress to the next level. Once swimmers reach level 8, they will be given the opportunity to progress into one of the competitive squads. They can then further develop their skills and have the opportunity to participate in galas.

LBRSC Learn to Swim classes consists of a 12 week course with each session lasting 30minutes.

Awards will be given on completion of each level.

LBRSC offer a fully inclusive programme, giving children of all abilities the opportunity to participate in the sport of swimming and learn life saving skills.
